Nellai Natures is a family-owned brand built on generations of deep-rooted agricultural heritage. Our family's farming journey dates back to the early 1900s, when agriculture was more than a livelihood - it was a way of life. Alongside farming, members of our family also served the community through public service, while preserving traditional agricultural wisdom and passing it from one generation to the next.
Today, that same legacy lives on through Nellai Natures, where we proudly craft traditional Mara Chekku (wood-pressed) oils with honesty, care, and respect for nature.
Our family farm is located in Ramakrishnapuram, Kalakad, Tirunelveli, at the serene foothills of the majestic Western Ghats. For over a century, this fertile land has remained at the heart of our family's farming tradition.
Our father personally planted and nurtured the coconut grove that continues to provide coconuts for Nellai Natures today. These trees have been cared for using traditional farming practices, without the use of synthetic fertilizers, synthetic pesticides, growth hormones, or artificial ripening agents. Instead, we enrich the soil naturally with cow manure and time-tested farming methods.
Along with coconuts, we also cultivate groundnuts on our family farm whenever seasonal conditions are favourable. To meet additional demand, we partner directly with carefully selected local farmers to source high-quality sesame and groundnuts. Every batch comes from trusted, traceable sources with a strong focus on quality, authenticity, and responsible farming practices.
Growing up, traditional Mara Chekku oils were part of our family's everyday life. The purity, aroma, and authenticity of these oils were something we cherished and trusted for generations.
While working in the corporate world, I found myself reflecting on how traditional food practices were gradually disappearing from everyday life. That inspired me to preserve our family's way of producing traditional wood-pressed oils and make them accessible to more families.
With this vision, Nellai Natures was born - to carry forward our family's farming legacy while delivering products crafted with integrity, care, and respect for nature.
Only carefully selected coconuts, groundnuts, and sesame seeds are chosen for every batch.
The harvested produce is naturally sun-dried using traditional methods.
Our oils are slowly extracted using the traditional wooden Mara Chekku method, preserving natural aroma, flavour, and character.
The freshly extracted oil is allowed to settle naturally before bottling, without unnecessary processing.
Every bottle is carefully packed after quality inspection to ensure it reaches your family with the same care it received on our farm.
